Shellseekers is a wonderful home from which to enjoy Barbados

Barbados has been an elite destination for many years. It lies east of the Windward and Leeward Islands in the Caribbean and is 21 miles long and 14 miles wide. Its major airport has daily flights to London and North America, and is also a link to the other islands. The weather is warm all year round, but the autumn is wetter, which is reflected in the rental price.

Most visitors choose to stay on the elegant and fashionable west coast which is bordered by beautiful white sand beaches, and is well supplied with restaurants and caters for everything a visitor may need. Shellseekers is located opposite the beautiful Mullins Beach, on the west coast. The east coast is mainly undeveloped and very spectacular, but the beaches are less popular as the Atlantic waves can be rough. In the interior there are fields of sugar cane and beautiful old plantation houses.

There is lots to do if you can bring yourself to leave the beach. The south of the island is busier and has shops and is the centre for club-land and nightlife. There are some outstanding restaurants, some the offshoots of famous London ones. The island still has a definite colonial atmosphere which lingers from the 17th and 18th centuries and still retains a strong British flavour. For instance polo, golf and cricket are popular pastimes. It is a superb holiday destination all the year round.
